What you can expect

Embrace an authentic Australian outback experience and learn some survival skills along the way with Wildlife Ambassador and Survival Expert, Andrew Ucles in the Northern Territory. Become part of the adventure as you leave Darwin at 7am and enjoy a journey into Australian Outback. Immerse yourself in the wonderland of the floodplains located near Finniss River, an extraordinary corner of the Top End. From close encounters and a crocodile feeding to a survival training session, wild boar spotting and Indigenous game preparation the morning is jammed packed full of adventure. In the afternoon, the pace slows down a little with chef prepared lunch and the opportunity to take a refreshing dip in the outback plunge pool at Finniss River before a return transfer back to Darwin.

  • The Northern Territory is situated in the northern part of Australia, a vast wilderness area which encapsulates Australia’s rugged and spectacular landscapes from escarpment country to the open flood plains; it remains Australia’s last wild frontier.
  • Finniss River is located approx 130km from Darwin CBD heading south-west towards Litchfield National Park, the journey takes roughly 1.5 hours.

FAQs
  • How can I prepare for the tour? The tours will involve walking distances throughout the day between 3 & 5km. A relatively good level of fitness is required. We work closely to your specific needs and this includes your physical ability throughout the tour.
  • What are the risk aspects of the tour? The greatest risk feature of the tour is dehydration. With all tours we take ample water supplies and are generally based on water features (Stream/River), I will constantly remind you to keep hydrating. First and foremost your safety is my responsibility. If I have any doubt in a situation which may un-fold, you must listen carefully to any instructions you may need to follow.
  • Can children join the tour? Yes. Children aged 10+ can join the tour with a parent or guardian.
  • Can I film the experience? This is a key part of the experience; the operator will take the responsibility of filming aspects of your journey into the wilderness. If you would like to film and take pictures of your experience this must be approved by the guide.
What To Bring
  • Bring a camera and phone to blog your journey
  • Clothing that is breathable and light (The weather conditions can vary depending on the time of year)
  • Comfortable covered footwear is required
  • Small day pack with any amenities or novelties that you may require when on the tour

Additional Information
  • Maximum of 4 people (min of 2) for a truly intimate experience
  • All individuals under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult or guardian.
  • Alcohol is not allowed during the tour, however a complimentary alcoholic beverage will be supplied at the Sand Palms Hotel before returning to Darwin.
  • Access to Outback Camp is strictly conducted by operator driver, unsealed and four-wheel driving terrain comprises of the travel logistics
  • All Waiver, Disclaimer & Health Screening documents must be signed prior to tour commencement.

Cancellation Policy
  • Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
  • Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
  • Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
